Presidential search forums and survey

October 18, 2022

Dear University of Oregon community members,

We are writing today to provide an update on the additional action items mentioned in the October 3 presidential search update. Since the last update, the search committee has met and a schedule for campus forums has been developed. These forums are an opportunity for everyone in our university community to engage in the search process and help the search committee determine the key characteristics, skills, and experiences the next leader of the university should possess. The full forum schedule is included below and on the presidential search webpage.

If for any reason you are unable to attend the campus forums, the search committee invites you to submit written feedback through this online feedback survey.

In addition, the forums are an opportunity to hear more about how to make recommendations for potential candidates and learn more about the search process. Recommendations for potential candidates can be made using this online recommendation survey.

Feedback from the public forums and input from the university community will be considered by the search committee when creating the presidential search profile. The final document will be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for approval at its December meeting.

We look forward to hearing from the university community during the upcoming forums and through the online surveys. This is an exciting time for the University of Oregon and an important moment as we consider what qualities should define the next leader of the university.

Sincerely,

Connie Seeley ‘92
Search Chair

Renée Evans Jackman ‘97
Search Vice Chair
