Renée Evans Jackman, a prior longtime resident of Portland, OR graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and master’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Family & Child Welfare, and Community Organization from Howard University.

Presently, as the director of grants management at the District of Columbia Department of Behavioral Health she is responsible for strategic direction and execution of the grants management office. Prior to her work at the Department of Behavioral Health, Evans Jackman served in the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education as the director of fiscal operations and grants management, and as the director of public charter school financing and support. She has over 15 years of experience working with the District of Columbia Government and has managed multi-million dollar grants since 2003.

Evans Jackman served on the University of Oregon Alumni Association Board of Directors, holding positions as the Co-Chair of Equity & Inclusion Task Force, Co-Chair of Strategic Planning Task Force, and most recently, as the Past President and Chair of Board development, honorably serving as the first African American woman to hold the position of Board President. She is the first alumni association board officer to be appointed to the Board of Trustees.
