Connie Ballmer is a community volunteer and Chair of philanthropy at The Ballmer Group, with a focus on measurably improving the outcomes of our most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged families. Ballmer philanthropy does this work through national grant making, public/private collaboration and investments in systems reform.
Connie has had a particular focus on the well-being of children, especially those living in out-of-home care. She partnered with the UW School of Social Work and the Washington State DSHS to found Partners for Our Children (POC) in 2006. In providing data analytics to improve challenges faced by individuals involved with the WA state child welfare system, POC strives to influence policy and practice, helping caseworkers, kids and families achieve better outcomes. Connie serves as current board chair of POC.
Connie also serves as a trustee on the governing board at the University of Oregon, where she earned a B.S. in journalism before entering a career in public relations and marketing for the high tech sector.
